Dental restorations
Amalgam restoration
There are two types of filling used to restore teeth. The first is an amalgam restoration (an alloy of metal and gray mercury), also known as a “filling”. This is advantageous in terms of value for money, durability and ease of use. On the other hand, the gray color can be unpleasant for some.
Composite restoration
The second type of filling is composite (white plastic resin). Some people prefer this second treatment because of the aesthetic appeal of the filling (same color as the healthy tooth).
